Our Church - Inside

There are various internal features worthy of note inside the church.

The chancel, nave, organ chamber and vestries form a cross.

All Saints' Altar

The altar gates were a gift from the children who collected ships halfpennies and Victorian pennies for some years.

The reredos, behind the Altar, is in memory of George, Lord Kinnaird, who endowed the Church so generously.

The Statue of Our Lord above the Altar was the gift of Frances, Lady Kinnaird.

The Brass Cross and Altar Candlesticks were given by Lord Forbes, Bishop of Brechin.

Font at Harvest Time

The Baptism Font was a gift of Mrs T W Greig of Glencarse House.

It was gifted in 1878.

Sermon on the Mount depicted in the stained glass window

The stained glass windows are singularly good, including some by Meyer of Munich and Hardman of Birmingham.

There are four in the Sanctuary. These were the gifts of Mr J Don, of Broughty Ferry, and Colonel and Mrs H M Drummond -Hay of Seggieden.

There are three in the Nave, given in memory of the third wife of the late Mr T Greig of Glencarse.

There has always been a strong musical tradition at All Saints and the choir was much appreciated in the earlier decades of the church's life. In recent years it has been necessary to rely on the organ and the stronger voices in the congregation to lead the singing.

Oak pulpit

The oak pulpit, to the left of the aisle was carved by Miss Agnes Watson of Inchyra and Miss Caroline Greig of Glencarse House.

Behind the pulpit is a beautiful icon depicting the Madonna and Child.

There is also an attractive tapestry picture above the entrance door. This was worked bt Miss Charlotte Drummond-Hay.

Looking east towards the choir stalls and altar

The carved rood screen, separating the Church and the Choirstalls, was designed by the Reverend E Sugden in memory of Colonel H M Drummond-Hay. It was erected in 1897.

The lectern and faldstool were gifts from the Reverend R Drummond.
